Is building a wall racist?

For as long as mankind has existed, we have been building walls. Today we can see the proof of walls from medieval Europe scattered throughout the entire European continent. We also have the Great Wall of China, the ancient Sumerian wall, the Athenian walls, the Great Wall of Gorgan and so on.

The idea of walls as racist

Coinciding with the mass migratory movement into Europe in 2015, a new idea has developed. That idea is that walls are an expression of racism. This idea, of course, is pushed heavily by the Marxist globalists whose aim is to eliminate all borders and countries. Currently, Donald Trump is under heavy scrutiny by the political left for daring to consider building a wall between the United States and Mexico. With that in mind, my aim in this blog is to explore some of the ideas behind walls and borders between various groups of people, and the results within a society when a wall is built.

Donald Trump is not the only person under fire from the political left for the desire to build a wall. Over recent years, Viktor Orban of Hungary has successfully completed a fortified electric fence complete with cameras, speakers which warn of the penalties for illegally crossing the borders, and border control officers. Like Trump, Orban is under heavy scrutiny from the political left for daring to stop those from other countries freely entering. The EU has even threatened to force Hungary to take migrants militarily. Many other countries are now also building walls and enforcing their borders, including Poland, Italy, Slovakia, and others. Germany who was once the beacon for free migratory movement is now also starting to clamp down after seeing that Merkle’s idea of open borders has been an absolute catastrophe.

As a side note, it is interesting that the media regularly labels countries like Poland and Hungary as authoritarian. The word authoritarian refers to a totalitarian dictatorship, where the enforcing of strict rules is applied at the expense of personal freedom. Any objective person looking at Hungary or Poland looking for authoritarianism will find none. Both leaders from both countries have been elected democratically and are putting systems into place to protect the culture and peoples of the countries they lead, which is exactly why they were elected. Both countries now have growing economies, with Poland being labelled the next Germany and is now one of the biggest entrepreneurial countries in the world. Viktor Orban of Hungary is so popular that he won a supermajority in the Hungarian elections earlier this year. Citizens from both countries now have excellent living standards, high employment, excellent access to social services such as hospitals and pensions, and enormously greater personal freedoms than they have had since before their time under Socialist rule. They have all of this, as well as a love and passion for their countries.

Closed and open borders

Anyway, I digress. There are several reasons countries decide to build walls. Despite what those against the walls protest, the reasons are not racist. The common thought is that the walls are built in order to keep others out, in other words, that the reason is external. Yes, this is true in one sense, however, the underlying reason why a people group want to keep others out is actually internal. It is in order to protect what is inside the walls.

This is where the difference between those who want walls and those who do not lies. Those who do not want walls and want open borders, do not love their culture, in fact, it can be accurately said that they despise their culture and want others to bring in their culture. Sweden has taken on more refugees per capita than any other country, their former Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, who is responsible for the massive immigration intake of Sweden, believed that Swedes were uninteresting and had no culture. The Swedes up until recently have bought into this whole globalist notion, with their museum even melting down ancient Viking artifacts in a bid to erase their history and national identity. As of this writing, however, as with a lot of Europe, there is a sharp move to the right.

America has a split of opinion between those who want walls and those who do not. Those who want the wall between themselves and Mexico have a very strong love for their country, those who do not want the wall, actively express their hate of their country. The below video is an excellent example of some of the hate that some Americans have for their own country.

Those from America and the Central and Eastern European countries that love their country and culture want the walls to protect what it is they have developed over centuries. In these countries, there is a return to national pride, with huge public demonstrations in support of their country. A return to traditional Christian beliefs is also an integral part of these cultures, signalling a clear distaste for the secular globalist beliefs. I wrote about the rise of Christianity in central and eastern European countries in a previous blog. All of this does not automatically mean that these countries have a hate for other cultures, after all, it is possible to love your own culture and other cultures. The underlying belief, however, is that they do not want to see their own culture diluted by external values that do not align with their own.

The difference between globalist and nationalist countries

What is interesting, is to note the difference between the globalist countries and territories who essentially have open borders, and nationalist countries and territories who have closed their borders. California, which is the most left of centre state in the US, strongly supports open borders, even putting state laws into place that protect illegal immigrants when they are released from prison. California is increasing its social welfare benefits to illegal immigrants, increasing taxes on the middle and upper classes to pay for it. The result? California now has the highest poverty and the biggest homeless rate in the US, with thousands creating tent cities to live in. The middle-class families are leaving the state in their thousands to escape increasing taxes, further depleting the tax income to the state government. Additionally, many businesses are now also moving their headquarters out of the state for the same reasons.

Sweden and Germany’s economies are now also beginning to falter from the vast immigration they have taken on. The increasing taxation of their citizens is now reaching breaking point. London today, is almost the exact same picture of poverty that it was in George Orwell’s 1930’s book The Road to Wigan Pier. In this book, Orwell described the vast numbers of people sharing apartments and even beds, where a day worker will use the bed at night, and a shift worker through the day. This is an exact picture of London today.

On the other side of the table, those countries that believe in and enforce borders have economies that are now flourishing. The Central and Eastern European countries that are now protecting their borders are now also seeing vastly increasing birth rates, something that has not been seen for decades. The election of Donald Trump has seen an economic surge like never before. The employment rates of African Americans and Latinos in the country are now at historic records. With ten states recording historical highs, that is, levels of employment never seen before in America’s history. There is now also a baby boom happening in conservative Christian America, with a 30% higher birth rate than non-conservative America.

Order vs Chaos

My final point on the idea of the dangers of mass immigration and the importance of border protection is this. No politician who advocates open borders has done a serious study on the ability of human’s psychological ability to adapt to the sudden change that mass immigration brings. In his book Maps of Meaning, Jordan Peterson talks about the need human beings have for culture. Culture establishes order within a society, creating a system of known and shared rules, ethics, and even cultural norms. It creates a safe psychological environment. The moment you disturb that order, chaos follows. The mass immigration that has entered Europe over the last few years has brought huge chaos, with riots, terrorist attacks, and the establishment of far-right movements. Politicians should have known this. The cultural differences between those in Europe and those coming are so far apart, that chaos was always going to be the result. Sweden, for example, is now the rape capital of Europe, a place where police stations are now regularly attacked with grenades, and no-go zones for Europeans established by the immigrants. This is something unheard of a decade ago. Poland however, a closed border country has not had one terrorist attack, and Hungary, none since the closing of their borders. These thoughts are not racist against the immigrants, its simply fact that the extreme mix of cultures creates chaos.

Final thought

With all that I have said, I am not saying that countries should not take refugees. When refugees are taken in, in small numbers, integration does not disrupt the order within a society. However Merkle's invitation to all who could make it meant that genuine refugees were swamped by economic migrants, who made the journey for economic purposes. If only the genuine refugees were taken in by Europe, the massive retaliation and alt right movements would never have happened.
